Meaning: power of changing future, leadership

 

Called “Tosa Sakura” the precious piece of limestone contain coral fossils created during the Silurian period 423 million years ago. Sample of Tosa Sakura are currently gathered from near the top of Mt Yokokura. Portions of Shikoku, including Kochi, were situated under the sea near the equator in ancient times. Therefore, Tosa Sakura contain fossil of Favorite, Halysites and sea lilies. Colored in red or light pink in the surface, our ancestors called it the stone of “cherry”. Sakamoto Ryoma (Ad 1836-1867) left Tosa saying, “I am going to look at cherry” He never returned but proceeded to Kyoto and changed the history of Japan.  Tosa Sakura is the stone of Tosa that reminds people of Sakamoto Ryoma..
